There are two reasons. First, I love British literature and British culture in general, and the fez — which originated in Morocco, I think — enjoyed great popularity as casual attire in England around the turn of the twentieth century. I like the image of a gentleman in a fez and waistcoat, drinking tea and reading a book. In my mind, that’s the ultimate picture of dignified leisure. The second reason I like fezzes is that I’m a fan of Doctor Who, in which they are a running gag.
